Saw others making these and figured I would do the same. Of course like everyone else does, my opinions and viewpoints can and will change and I will hopefully remember to reflect that here. 1. Everything we do today shall stand to the test of time, we're all but bricks and mortar on the shell that is the web. Though the bricks shall crumble, cracks form in the foundation, and so-called developers seek to tear it down for some dumb condominium, we all form a piece of the Internet, and therefore all equally responsible for it. 2. Archival is vital. In an age where a tweet can easily be removed, a resource scrubbed by corporate overlords, or an entire website going offline after decades of service, archival for future generations to learn and understand is extremely important. Whether you're viewing a historical moment unfold on your screen or dumpster diving on some forum that's been sitting on a server's hard drive since 2001, ARCHIVE IT! 3. The axe forgets but the tree remembers; never let the actions of a corporation get washed away by the sands of time. People have the luxury of forgiveness and change, corporations are NOT people. 4. There is no such thing as scarcity on the web, information and resources should be freely copied and distributed; artificial scarcity should be treated with absolute suspicion and rejection.
